Stay cool this summer with indoor plants! They help purify the air in our homes, increase focus, and reduce stress. Whether you are an avid gardener or just beginning your plant parent journey, discover the trailing elegance and easy care of Pothos Ivy. In fact, Pothos is one of the easiest houseplants around. It is low-maintenance, fast-growing, and adapts well to most conditions.
Pothos Ivy, or Devil’s Ivy, is a tropical vine, native to the South Pacific. It can be easily trained to climb a trellis or trail from your favorite planter. Great for beginner gardeners, Pothos is an easy-to-grow houseplant with minimal maintenance. They are fast-growing plants with pointed, heart-shaped leaves that mature into variegated blends of greens, yellows, and whites.
Pothos thrives in bright, indirect light and will tolerate low-light areas. It is a great accent piece to your home décor or pair it with your indoor plant collection for a spectacular display!
How To Grow Pothos Plants
Treat your new plants to gorgeous pottery for a stylish home accent. At Calloway’s and Cornelius, we have a vast collection of trendy planters for every area of your Texas home and garden.
Choose one with a drain hole on the bottom to keep the roots healthy or if your container does not have one, you can line it with décor stones or pebbles to create a draining system. The ideal pot size for a Pothos plant should allow room for the roots to flourish. Once they start growing out of the drain holes, re-pot to a container one to two sizes larger.
Planting Pothos Ivy is easy! Start with well-draining potting soil, and end with nutrient-rich plant food for your gardening success.
Find your new favorite pottery and fill it with Calloway’s Premium Potting Soil, leaving room for your plant.
Plant your Pothos Ivy and water in thoroughly. Add more potting mix if needed. Display on your tabletops, desks, bookshelves, and mantels. Allow this trailing houseplant to transform your space into an indoor jungle.
Take your potted plants to the next level with a climbing pole or SuperMoss® trellis.
Use Sturdy Twists to help train your plant to grow around the trellis. As your Pothos grows longer, it will create a living work of art in your home.
Feed with Calloway’s Premium Tropical Plant Food every 30 days from the time of planting to promote healthy growth and bright green foliage.
Types of Pothos Plants
There are many different kinds of Pothos varieties available, each distinguished by the color and style of their leaves. Here are a few of our favorites from our indoor plant collection!
NEON POTHOS

Bright, indirect light is best to maintain its vibrant hues and to avoid leggy growth. Plant in retro ceramic pot to complete your summer tablescapes.
NEON QUEEN POTHOS
Pair our adorable stone head planters with Neon Queen Pothos. You’ll love the variegated leaves that sparkle in shades of neon green and streaks of cream.
It earned its Queen title because it is highly variegated and requires a bit brighter light exposure to maintain its coloring.
MARBLE QUEEN POTHOS
Marble Queen Pothos are one of the most well-known and commonly found varieties. It can sometimes be mistaken for Golden Pothos because of their similar leaves, but Marble Queen Pothos stands out with its white, cream, and green variegation.
Display in an area with medium to bright, indirect light and avoid direct sun exposure to protect the leaves.
PEARLS AND JADE POTHOS
Pothos Ivy thrives as a hanging plant. When paired with gorgeous ceramic planters from our new selections, your home will be draped in the majestic shades of Pearls and Jade Pothos.
This unique houseplant is known for being a slow grower with smaller leaves than other Pothos varieties. It was developed at the University of Florida and is a patented cultivator of the Marble Queen Pothos and has white edging with green streaks throughout.
