Succulents are a great addition to any décor. They are unique, beautiful, and so easy to maintain! Succulents can be planted and used in so many ways because of their durability. They are a great starter plant for any new gardener and perfect for any occasion.

This Earth Day, we decided to spruce up our doors with a stunning Living Succulent Wreath.

How to Make a Living Succulent Wreath:

STEP ONE:

You will need the following supplies:

wreath

  • 1 grapevine wreath
  • Succulents, ranging in size and color
  • Long Fiber Sphagnum Moss
  • Spray adhesive

Pick up your succulents and moss from our store nearest you. The remaining supplies can be found at any local craft store.

STEP TWO:

Let’s get to crafting! Grab your wreath and spray adhesive. Spray a thick coating direct onto the wreath. This will help adhere the moss to the wreath and allow your succulents to have a nice layer of support and moisture when attached to the wreath.

While we are only putting succulents on a portion of our wreath, you are certainly welcome to cover the whole wreath. The same rules apply with application; just make sure to give your wreath a good coating of spray adhesive throughout.

STEP THREE:

Moisten your moss in a large bowl or bucket. This will help give your succulents water. Squeeze the excess water from the moss and press it firmly into the areas that were sprayed with the adhesive.

Give the area a good coating of moss and secure it with the floral wire. Pull the wire tight while you wrap around the moss-covered areas.

STEP FOUR:

Prepare your succulents for placement! Figure out the set up and where you want to put each succulent.

Once you have that planned, make your cuttings. Leave .5-1 inch of bare stem where you can for each succulent. The stem helps secure the succulents to the moss with the hot glue.

STEP FIVE:

Time to hot glue and pin your succulents to the wreath! I know some of you may be wondering about the hot glue, but have no fear, the hot glue will not hurt your plants! The succulent will actually root through the glue and grow into the moss.

Make a small hole for your plant, add the glue and slide the cutting into the glue. Secure each succulent with a floral pin and even follow up with more wire for extra hold.

Finally, ta-da! Your wreath is finished! It is a good idea to let the wreath set for a few days.
