PLANT FOOD 101
Plant food labels contain formulas on each container. What do those numbers mean? They indicate the percentage of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in each respective plant food.
- Nitrogen is important to all parts of a plant – the roots, leaves, stems, blooms, and fruit. Nitrogen gives your plants their green color. Nitrogen is also essential to forming protein.
- Phosphorus is an important nutrient needed for cell division and to aid in the formation of your plant’s roots, blooms, or fruit. Plants lacking in phosphorus tend to have stunted growth and poor flowering.
- Potassium is needed to keep your plants thriving. Potassium deficiencies can range from poor growth and yellowing of leaves.

CALLOWAY’S PREMIUM FLOWER FOOD

- Apply every 45 days from time of planting.

- Apply along the drip line of the tree at the rate of ½ pound per inch of the trunk’s diameter.
- Water in thoroughly.
ESTABLISHED SHRUBS:
- Mix food into the soil underneath the plant.
- Water in thoroughly.
