LASTING GIFT IDEAS FOR YOUR VALENTINE
GIFT IDEA #1: SWEETHEART HOYA
Sweetheart Hoya is also known as the Valentine Plant due to its thick, succulent, heart-shaped leaves. It is a stunning indoor plant and extremely low maintenance. Sweetheart Hoyas can tolerate low light, but not full shade. It performs best in bright, indirect sunlight. Since Sweetheart Hoyas are relatively drought tolerant, water when the soil is dry to the touch. Do not let the soil dry out completely.
Sweetheart Hoyas are ready to gift in an adorable Valentine’s-themed container!
GIFT IDEA #2: MINIATURE ROSES
Miniature Roses or Kordana® Roses are specifically developed miniature roses that come in gorgeous shades of red, pink, white, and more! Their blooms are similar to a classic rose and are equally as striking. They can be re-planted outdoors after gifting, but they are a great choice for indoor Valentine’s Day color. Miniature Roses prefer bright light or full sun and they should be watered when the top two inches of the soil is dry.
Pair your Miniature Roses with pink pottery for the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift!
GIFT IDEA #3: INDOOR AZALEAS
4 inch and 6 inch Azaleas are a colorful delight for the indoors. You can grow these beauties just like any other houseplant. Indoor or “Greenhouse Azaleas” are different than the hardy varieties that you would plant outdoor in your landscape. They enjoy the cooler climate of your home which enhances longer lasting blooms.
The lovely pink blooms paired with bright red pottery is the perfect way to say, “Be Mine”!
GIFT IDEA #4: AFRICAN VIOLETS
African Violets are small indoor plants with clusters of small blooms and green, fuzzy foliage. Native to East Africa, these beautiful blooms originated from the tropical rainforests of Tanzania and Kenya. They prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to protect the foliage from burning. The leaves will tell you if the light needs are being met. Thin leaves with leggy stems are a sign that your plant needs more light. Light green or bleached leaves indicate too much light. Keep the soil lightly moist and be careful not to overwater.
Your Valentine will love our African Violets! They are stunning, especially paired with gorgeous pottery!
GIFT IDEA #5: GERBERA DAISY
Gerbera Daisies are vibrant flowers with long-lasting blooms and dramatic, bright green foliage. They are cheerful and well-loved for their versatility and bold colors. Light is a key component to the health of your Gerbera Daisy, especially if it is grown indoors. It requires constant bright, indirect light. Avoid placing your plant on a sunny windowsill as this location can get too hot and scorch the leaves. Water your plant when the top two inches of the soil is dry.
Try pairing these bold blooms with eye-catching pottery for an impressive and thoughtful gift!
GIFT IDEA #6: CARNATIONS
Carnations are known as the flower for giving. They are a gardener’s favorite because of their beautiful blooms and unique texture. They are hardy and long-lasting with easy to grow flowers. Perfect for a sunny windowsill or patio, Carnations need at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. Water regularly and keep the soil evenly moist. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
Treat your sweetheart to a vibrant combination of charming blooms and dazzling pottery!
