SUN-LOVING HANGING BASKET IDEA #1
SUPPLIES:
- Sun-loving plants like Rosemary, Lantana, and Sweet Potato Vine
- Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil
- Coco Lined Basket
- Gardening Gloves
STEP ONE: ADD POTTING SOIL
First, fill the coco basket with Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil, leaving room for the plants. Our Premium Container Soil has water saving ingredients like Hydrogel water holding crystals for added moisture control, which is helpful during these summer days!
STEP TWO: ADD THE THRILLER
It is time to start adding your plants! Start with your Thriller, this will be a large, dramatic, and taller option. Choose dynamic blooms or tall spikes of foliage. It is the focal point in your container. You can either place your Thriller in the center of your container, if viewed from all sides, or place it towards the back of the container.
Barbeque Rosemary is a stunning choice. It has narrow green needle-like foliage with an upright form. It is also a popular herb known for its great flavor and aroma. The strong, straight stems make for excellent barbeque skewers.
STEP THREE: ADD THE FILLER
Add a pop of color with Lantana. It is a vibrant option as your Filler and it grows quickly too. This should be a rounded plant to make the container look full. Place it around the Thriller.
Lantana has cheerful clusters of bright flowers, these non-stop bloomers are great for attracting pollinators like butterflies and bees.
STEP FOUR: ADD THE SPILLER
Complete your container garden with the Spiller. The Spiller should be a trailing plant that hangs over the edge of the container. They should be close to the edge of the container, in front, or surrounding the Filler.
Sweet Potato Vines are a wonderful option. They have rich, heart-shaped leaves and trailing growth that lasts throughout the season. Sun-loving Sweet Potato Vines add a lovely texture and vibrant green color to any flowerbed or container garden.
STEP FIVE: DISPLAY YOUR CREATION
Once everything is planted, add more potting soil, and water in your plants thoroughly. Hang your new creation in a sunny location for a pop of gorgeous color.

STEP ONE: ADD POTTING SOIL
