To get started, you will need the following supplies:

  1. Terra Cotta Pottery
  2. Black Gold® Cactus Mix
  3. Succulents
  4. Exotic Décor Pebbles

STEP 1: ADD POTTING SOIL

potting soil

First, add stones to the bottom of your container to create a proper draining system that is ideal for succulents. Then, add your potting soil. We recommend using Black Gold® Cactus Mix.

Black Gold® Cactus Mix is a unique blend of horticultural grade perlite, pumice, earthworm castings, compost and bark made specifically for cactuses and succulents! It helps provide the ideal soil structure and drainage that these plants crave.

STEP 2: CREATE 4 LEAF CLOVER WITH SUCCULENTS

Start planting your succulents. Carefully remove each succulent from its container and gently break up the root ball.

add succulents in tear drop shapes

Plant a section at a time, creating each “leaf” of your 4-leaf clover. Make groupings that resemble a tear drop for each “leaf” of the 4-leaf clover. Plant each section close together to form a clear shape.

STEP 3: ADD DECORATIVE PEBBLES

To make your Succulent Shamrock shine, add Exotic Décor Pebbles. We picked white stones to create a bold contrast and to emphasize the color scheme of St. Patrick’s Day.

ALL ABOUT OXALIS SHAMROCK PLANTS

white containers with oxalis plants

Oxalis Shamrock or Shamrock plants are an attractive indoor plant. The clover-shaped leaves range in shades from burgundy to vibrant green. The foliage is complimented by delicate blooms. The leaves fold up at night and re-open again in the morning light.

Shamrock plants are easy to grow and maintain, making them a perfect choice for your next houseplant.

Oxalis require brightly lit areas indoors and shade to partial shade outdoors. When under too low of light or at night, your plant’s leaves may droop a bit. The leaves will perk back up when they receive the correct levels of lighting. They do best in moist, well-draining soil and should be watered when the top of the soil feels dry to the touch.
