CYCLAMEN
Looking for a dynamic plant full of bright color? Try planting Cyclamen! Cyclamen has down-sweeping petals with beautiful heart-shaped leaves that remain green throughout the season. The mounding growth and bold foliage are a great way to add texture and distinctive color to your landscape or containers.
For our Dallas-Fort Worth gardeners, plant these beauties in your container gardens for an exciting pop of color. For our Houston gardeners, give your landscape a colorful makeover to enjoy throughout the season with Cyclamen.
Cyclamen does best in partial shade and prefers evenly moist soil conditions. Available in a variety of sizes and in gorgeous shades of pinks, reds, and white for the perfect holiday touch.
ORNAMENTAL CABBAGE & KALE
Ornamental Cabbage and Kale are favorite plants for this time of year. The rich green colors and various textures will shine in your landscape or container garden. They are low-maintenance and are a great choice for your sun-loving garden! As the season cools, the leaves become more vibrant and colorful.
The mounding habit of Ornamental Cabbage and Kale adds an attractive texture to any flowerbed or container garden. Great for mass plantings or use as a standalone feature in your containers!
GROUNDCOVERS
MONDO GRASS
Dwarf Mondo Grass contains grassy leaves that remain dark green in color throughout the year. It does best in the shade and is relatively low maintenance. Dwarf Mondo Grass is striking when planted along borders of your flowerbeds.
It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but Dwarf Mondo Grass will not tolerate standing water. When planting in your flowerbeds, allow about 6 inches of space between each plant so there is room to grow. With proper care, this slow-growing plant will create lasting texture in your landscape.
LIRIOPE
Liriope adds texture with a subtle pop of color to your flowerbeds. Liriope has spikes of blooms that come in shades of purple or silver atop arching glossy, green grass. In the cooler months, the blooms transform into berries.
Liriope does well in all exposures, preferably partial shade to full sunlight. It requires an evenly moist well-drained soil for optimal growth, but will not tolerate standing water.

HOLLY
There are many different varieties of Holly to explore at our stores nearest you! All come with glossy green leaves in various sizes and textures. From the pointed tips of Needlepoint Holly to the petite leaves of Dwarf Micron Yaupon Holly, you will find the perfect shrub for your landscape.
Holly plants are a great choice for attracting beneficial pollinators, like winter birds and bees, to your landscape. Many varieties grow berries in the winter that birds love!
Holly prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn’t be allowed to dry out. It is particular about its soil conditions, with a strong preference for rich, acidic soils.

JUNIPER
Juniper shrubs are a perfect choice for your cool season garden. They come in many unique shapes and styles to fit the design of your landscape. For a formal look, try the Blue Point Spiral Juniper.
For a natural look, explore all the different styles of Juniper shrubs. The narrow foliage ranges in shades of green with variating textures and growing habits.
Juniper should be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but it will not tolerate any standing water. Juniper is considered to be drought-tolerant and is relatively low maintenance.

BOXWOOD
Boxwood shrubs are extremely versatile and can tolerate partial shade to full sunlight conditions. Boxwoods, like Baby Gem™ and Baby Jade™ varieties, can create a formal look in your landscape with the fine texture and compact growth.
Other varieties, like Green Tower® Boxwoods, have an upright and columnar growth for the perfect vertical accent plant.
Boxwoods prefer to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn’t be allowed to dry out. They do best in partial shade to full sunlight and are the perfect choice for a low-maintenance shrub.

SHADE TREES
OAK TREES
Oak Trees are a great choice for adding shade to your Texas garden. Varieties like Shumard Red Oak and Southern Live Oak will create vertical interest in your landscape.
Shumard Red Oak Trees are a stately and tall shade tree with an attractive, pyramidal habit of growth. It has deeply cut leaves and provides good fall color. This tree should only be grown in full sunlight. It is an amazingly adaptable plant, tolerating both dry conditions and even some standing water. Southern Live Oak Trees are a southern native variety that eventually produces massive, horizontal spreading limbs that create a large canopy of dark green foliage. This tree should only be grown in full sunlight and prefers to grow in average to moist conditions.
CHINESE PISTACHE
Chinese Pistache Trees will grow into a magnificent umbrella-shaped specimen with green leaves that progress from orange to red in fall. This tree should only be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions and will not tolerate any standing water.

SUCCULENTS
