Catnip grows small, pointy, aromatic leaves that are grayish green along with spiked, tiny, shell pink flowers that bloom from early to late summer. This herb can also attract beneficial bugs to your yard such as bees and butterflies!
Catnip will develop a mounded form and will require occasional maintenance. It’s best to clean up in early spring. It can be grown in either garden beds or containers.
Catnip is a fast grower that can grow about 3 feet tall and wide. It will perform better in full sun to partial shade but will not tolerate being in standing water. It’s best to plant in organic potting soil and apply organic fertilizer for healthy foliage growth. Taking great care of this herb, it can live for about 10 years.
