Cereus Monstrosus is a collectible oddity of twisted stems, some more thorny than others. This is a very low maintenance plant. It has no significant negative characteristics. Cereus Monstrosus can be featured in high-design containers as a living sculpture.
Cereus Monstrosus will grow to 2-4 feet tall and wide. It grows slowly, and with age will produce side branches. This shrub should be grown in bright sunlight all day long. It does require minimal moisture, but as a Cactus can withstand being dry. It will not tolerate any standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH as long as it drains completely. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America. Cereus Monstrosus is great for collectors who enjoy unusual and unique plants. It does well on a sunny patio or porch, but will require Winter protection.
