Dracanea Limelight is a tropical, upright evergreen that adds height and drama to interior plantings. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and requires only occasional pruning to remove old foliage. Gardeners should be aware of the following characteristic(s) that may warrant special consideration; Insects. Dracanea Limelight is recommended for interior plantings with moderately bright light where height is required.
Dracanea Limelight grows up to 10 feet. It is a strongly upright plant that tends to drop its lower leaves, exposing the stalk as it ages. This plant should be grown in bright indirect sunlight, but is known to tolerate lower light levels. Dracaenas require even moisture, good soil drainage, and cannot tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America. NASA studies reveal that Dracaenas absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, as all plants do, but these plants also eliminate significant amounts of benzene, formaldehyde and trichloroethylene.
