These delicious shallots have red, papery, skin - resembling an elongated onion. Great to eat either raw or in cooked applications.
Gourmet Red Shallots may be grown in vegetable garden beds or containers and must be place at least 4 to 7 feet apart from each other. They can grow roughly about a foot tall.
Amend Shallots in loose, well composted soil. Be sure to not over fertilize with nitrogen as the nitrogen will reduce some of the flavor. Amend in good compost, preferably with bone meal. Harvest in mid to late summer.
