Ornamental Pepper has bushy, glossy green foliage and colorful fruit that stand in upright clusters at the end of the stems combining to create an outstanding ornamental plant. The fruit comes in shades of red, purple, yellow, orange, black or white, and the peppers change colors as they ripen, so you may see several different colors on the same plant. Use them as bedding plants in the garden or plant them in pots so you can enjoy them on sunny decks and patios.

It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Most Ornamental Peppers are interspecific hybrids. Ornamental Pepper is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers. It is often used as a 'filler' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination, providing a mass of colorgul fruit against which the thriller plants stand out. Some taller varieties can be used as the focal 'thriller' in a container combination.
