"Purple Majesty Potatoes should be planted in early spring by direct sowing in a location that receivees full sun and in soil that can be kept evenly moist, but not soggy. This variety does best when planted whole. Space the seed potatoes 10 to 12 inches apart in a trench with as many eyes facing up as posslbe. Cover with 2 to 3 inches of soil. Protect from frost until shoots are 4inches tall. Continue to hill soil or growing medium around the shoots, leaving foliage exposed as the plant matures. Be sure to keep the tubers completely covered as light will cause them to turn green.
