Frequently Asked Questions
It’s easy to keep your garden thriving during our Texas summers with these three easy steps. Make sure to add a 2” layer of mulch around your plants. This will protect the roots, prevent weeds and lock in moisture. Fertilize! Just like we take our daily vitamins, your plants need food and nourishment. Make sure to fertilize your plants with our line of Premium Plant Foods. Summer Color, Trees & Shrubs and Tropicals will all need an extra boost. Have a consistent watering schedule and adjust based on our rainfall.
Our Texas lawns need to dry out a bit between waterings. This will encourage the grass to develop deeper, stronger roots. During the summer, aim to water no more often than every 4 or 5 days. If temperatures exceed 100 degrees change your schedule to 3 or 4 days. Water enough that the grass doesn’t dry out any sooner than that.
Cora® XDR Vinca, Soiree Kawaii® Catharanthus, Pentas, Lantana and Moss Rose are our go-to favorites for heat and drought performance.
Yes! If temperatures don’t exceed 100 for a long period of time you can plant trees & shrubs following these easy steps. Use Nature’s Creation® Root Stimulator, to give your plants the best start. Make sure to use our Tree & Shrub Garden Soil when planting. Then follow up with Mulch, fertilizer and water in immediately. Develop a consistent schedule and use a Flexon™ Soaker Hose for deep waterings.
